daughter has just got a rover,stereo needs code.


garage dont know it,neither does last owner.


is there a database where i can enter the chassis number or similar to retrieve the code

Sorry but the whole point of a radio code is security.


If there was such a database it would make the whole idea obsolete!!! Anyone would be able to obtain them.


I work for Merc and know that is possible for us to determine the code of most cars (so long as the radio was fitted at factory). It is obviously different (and more difficult) with Rover. Maybe try contacting Rover (if they still exist) and seeing if they can help.


To be honest though, you may be better getting it recoded by a reputable car audio specialist. That's what we end up doing when we can't get the data.
