With the first one we did every thing by the book (which ever version of the book was available then - almost turned us into basket cases), thing 1 and thing 2 are virtually feral compared to the others. Go on your gut instincts, you will know if there is a medical emergency (don't ask me how, you will just know).

Ring NHS Direct and they will give you advice over the phone. And tell you whether you need a doctors appointment, help from the health visitor, or a visit to A & E (which I doubt). Tin a prunes, and a little bit of prune juice will probably do the trick. I would think, at 7 months, thats what I would try, not too much tho.
Just had a thought - orange juice is quite acidic and if your babys a bit sore it might aggrivate and sting. I would make an appointment monday morn though just to put your mind at rest. Try stopping with the fruit becuase of the acid content and take it right back to really plain food and gradually reintroduce veg a week or so later. Its proberly all happening due to a change in diet and your babys not quite ready for it.
I used to mix a small spoonful of honey into my sons dessert or breakfast when he was a baby, to help with constipation. I just googled it to see what current thinking is..and it's a big no no because of the potential for contracting botulism!! Good grief, it's a wonder he lived to be 33 and healthy :)
The other thing I used to do was whip his nappy off immediately he'd been fed and hold him out over it to enable him to poo more easily. It always worked and I rarely had a dirty nappy after he was about three months old.

Mosaic......I do understand....I was referring mainly to the comments of the posters, NOT to the predicament of the OP.
Yes, I have many comments to make, but i have learnt over the years (it took me a long time) to keep out of children's problems and especially the Pregnancy section.............unless i am really bored then i will have "a bit of fun."
No, Mosaic, I am a man and what do i know about such things.......I think that I will watch from the sidelines.
