Playing Movie On An Imac

I downloaded a movie on my parents imac and it is avi. I click play and it says quick time wont play it. What can I do or download to play it. Thanks, and Merry Christmas.

The two best video players are undoubtedly GOM and VLC. Since the Mac version of GOM is still in development, you should try VLC:

I think if you drag it into your iTunes it converts it automatically.

I'd recommend XBMC for Mac. It seems to play all movie file extensions.
