We have an elderly BT answerphone which is set to ring six times before clicking onto answerphone mode. Recently, every so often it starts clicking in after two rings but then occasionally resets itself. Can anybody advise how to cure this problem? Thanks.

It's possible that it has a 'timesaver' mode - where if it has a taken a message already - after 6 rings, it decides that no-one is in and answers subsequent calls after 2 rings.

I've had a couple of BT answerphones over the years and they both haad this 'feature'.

If you don't manage to mend it you could always just use the BT answering system, its free if you use the system message and you just dial 1571 when you get home. A lot less hassle !
Just buy another one their pretty cheap now!
