I have spen the last few days de-cluttering my wardrobe and have taken a large bin bag to the charity shop. What I want to know is how come my wardrobe appears to be just as full of clothes as it was before I started?

Me too Spotit! Am thinking of just buying another wardrobe. How are you?
I have sold plenty of clothes on eBay but cupboard no emptier. It is very strange but true.
But the clothes are breathing a sigh of relief spotit3.
Until you buy some more, then they'll have to squeeze up again!
Spotit - The gremlins obviously came straight round to you from my house ....LOL :))

The clothes that survived the brutal cleaning-out have breathed a sigh of relief and expanded to their previous unsquashed size, and thus have filled the remaining space:)
apart from the occasional breather of "I have nothing to wear"

Doing fine, thanks, Gness. Hope you had a good Christmas. Would you believe I was actually in two clothes shops today. Good thing was, I only bought a scarf!
surely the bigger problem will be in oooh, say 6-8 weeks time when you can't push the doors closed! At least that's what happens with my O.H.

No, Beegeegee, I am determined this time. My eventual aim this year is to completley empty one wardrobe. Check back in six months!
