Download to iPod
5 Answers
I use my Windows XP for business, but allow my grand-daughter to use it evenings. Recently she connected to Limewire to put music on her iPod which resulted in not being able to access the computer at all. I was advised that it was probably a virus for which Limewire is notorious and with help from Confab I eventally overcame it. (The iPod installation disc had been re-inserted, although she had been using it for months, if this is relevant). Being totally ignorant of the workings of iPod and Limewire etc., could anyone explain - in simple terms - why there should be any problem. All her friends say they use Limewire without any trouble. Shall I allow her to connect to Limewire again? or is there an alternative?. I do not wish to be unduly cautious but must put my business needs first. Many thanks for any help.

Downloading music tracks from limewire is in breech of copyright laws, unless she is downloading copyright free music (which I doubt).
I have used such sites so I'm not pointing the finger but just trying to make sure you are aware of the situation and the ramifications this might have esspecially when she is using your buisness PC for this.

Morally, you should not use Limewire as it is essentially stealing software/music by using file sharing. It is also jam packed with viruses so you if you decide to use it you must be protected against viruses. You can use pay sites like napster/iTunes where the musicians who supply the music get their money (only fair in my opinion). I would not use Limewire on a business machine. Also if, God forbid, you get caught stealing stuff through Limewire chances are you will have to pay the fines, not your grand-daughter.
