I use a card game website which uses java and today I have found that the java plug in will not work, says it is inactive on signing on. The website is aware of this fact and has suggested I use Firefox as they say that Apple has blocked safara from using java until a security issue is resolved with version 7 and a patch sent out. Firefox is now coming up with the same message. Any other apple users having the same problem.. Any ideas.

Thanks

Yes Apple has disabled the latest version of Java (1.7.0_11-b21) because one of the two security failings it was supposed to cure didn't work. There isn't a work round unless you want to turn off your Xprotect anti-malware system. Oracle should release a b22 update in a few days
Oracle have released Java 7 update 13. This cures the outstanding security vulnerability on MacOS, Windows, Linux etc., plus 50 other security fixes. Downloads for all OS's can be seen here
