Mm Links Results February 2013 Week 1

This month we had a brand new setter in the form of 'Emperor Kawakiri'. Being new, we didn't know what to expect and once I tell you the links, will you be any the wiser?

The game has now closed and I can reveal that his chosen links were:

SUGAR BOWL
EIDER DOWN
BACK GAMMON
FIXED PENALTY

There were lots of possibilities for those links so it will be no surprise to learn that scores were hard to come by.

It was a game of two halves (unlike American Football) with two links quickly discovered and the remaining two holding out until mid-afternoon.


Strix was the first player to score - at 9:02. Maybe he had an early start on a cold morning and he was missing his EIDER DOWN for 2 points.

Also at 9:02, Lysander, followed by Owllady opted for the SUGAR BOWL (2 points each). Was it the link with American Football, or did they simply have a sweet tooth?


Players came and went without discovering either of the two remaining until at 2pm, Eiggam recalled a FIXED PENALTY. Did she find one on her car? Whatever - it earned her 2 points.

Over an hour later, 2unicorns suggested a game of BACK GAMMON and thus claimed the final link for 2 points.


Fortunately for me, the task of choosing a hotshot was resolved when CHRIS-Hewat selected both 'sugar bowl' and 'eider down' to become the only double-hitter.

Many thanks, makes a change for me - it's normally Shazza! Shame as we are only around for next week then away to NZ for a month! And we are always unable to get anything posted east of midday, so at a permanent disadvantage to most!!

Thanks for the two points for "fixed penalty" you were right on the mark Gen2 - just received £60. fixed penalty fine for 36 mph in 30 mile limit!!
