If you watch both, which drama do you prefer - Downton Abbey or Mr Selfridge? I never thought anything would beat Downton but found out now that Mr Selfridge does - more action! ;)
I never get to see Call the Midwife as I'm out on Sunday evenings until 8.30pm and don't want to watch on catch up every week. I understand it is very good, looks the kind of programme I like.
Downton, The Paradise, Mr Selfridge, Call the Midwife, all great programmes, and all set in times gone by, interesting that we like these type of programmes.
Anyone going to be watching the new drama on BBC2 Monday and Tuesday called Dancing on the Edge? Set in 1930's London, it looks promising.
I preferred The Paradise to Selfridge - chaps are better-looking and better actors, and less fidgety.
As far as Midwife goes, it's been highly recommended by many, but when I've watched, it's been a constant procession of bare thighs viewed sideways with a baby slipping out between. Probably the same shot every time....
Call the midwife brings back lots of memories for me when I did my training. Mr Selfridge took me a little time to get into of who was who and doing what but all pieced together now . The very first Downown Abbey was the best one.
I read the book Call the midwife. It was good.
Ive never seen Downton Abbey.
I watched the first three episodes of Mr Selfridge and gave up. Too many storylines going on at the same time.I found it hard to see who was who.
