Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9

I have a samsung tablet 8.9.It has been updated to the latest Android software 4.0 .When I switch the device on after the sleep mode,the display consists of just vertical mush lines.If I hold the on switch for 10seconds,then it resets itself.It did not happen with the earlier Android software.Any ideas ? I have reset the system as per manual,but the problem persists.

As your Tab is in warranty period.. get it checked by service center of your area.
