I have really never had a pet before But one day I think I would like one someday.
My question is this though what exactly do you love about animals? Also which species do you love the most and your reasons please.
With your most favourite species in mind why would you consider that this species is better than any other mammal/ reptile etc on this planet?
Got to be a dog IMO, I've owned cats, lizards, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, birds and probably others over the years, but none of them provide the love and companionship that a dog does. Just whish they would live a bit/lot longer!
The disadvantages far outweigh any advatages. If you have not had pets before then, speaking as someone that has had dogs, I would say steer well clear of any of them.
If you treat them well dogs will love you unconditionally, you can see that in their eyes and body language, they need a lot of attention, walks etc but are extremely rewarding to have around the house.
I love all animals, even the 'ugly' and dangerous ones.
Having said that, I'm not a fanatic and I'm not a vegetarian 'though I don't eat cows and I don't *have* to have flesh.
Of all the traditional domestic animal companions I prefer cats, I find dogs a bit in yer face and just a bit too demanding. I like the seemingly independent and slightly stand-offish nature of cats. They are affectionate and some people simply fail to read their body language. Cats have a distinct set of signals that I feel I can tune into very easily. Plus I'm a Leo :-)
