chicken police

Afternoon, animal lovers. I don't have any animals anymore but lov'em and often watch all sorts of animal clips on YouTube. This one featuring the chicken police really intrigued me - is there anyone among you that could come up with a theory as to why two fighting rabbits should annoy the roosters to such a degree??
The second video is just a bonus for you cat lovers, no question attached, although if any of you have your own little roomba driver at home, do tell!

Domestic animals have a somewhat misguided sense of propriety and the chickens probably regarded the wabbits as part of the flock. Any fighting within the flock means the hierarchy is being challenged so the chickens (being higher in rank at the moment) thought they'd put them in place straight away.
A friend on a farm in NZ hatched a crossbreed duck under a chicken and now, years later, it has a daily fly with the pigeons and lands back among the chickens. Eventhough it is a lot smaller, it is the 'top dog' among the chooks and sorts out any disturbances just like on the clip.

Yes isn't that cat a cutie pie, eash :-)
Rooster, chicken... whatever... *in female Manuel voice* I'm from Sweden, I know noothing... Thanks wildwood, it would never have occured to me that those hens might consider the rabbits part of the flock. But I'm thinking you're probably right. Loved the duck story! Now if you'll excuse me, as I've gotten a thing or two wrong I should probably retire for the evening and catch up on my zoology...

Welcome to the barnyard, biddies of all sexes, be you roosters or hens! (I'm still confused about that one...) There was a request for a sunny location and I'm proud to say this *is* a sunny barnyard... and I brought back a bottle of wine... http://i45.tinypic.com/2ns3uhf.jpg ...couldn't be better!
Welcome Woofy! I loved your story about the lads going outdoors in the middle of the night and running around for an hour:)
Anyone wants to tell me if not about the birds and the bees then at least about the roosters and the hens, go ahead, because I think maybe at 51 I sort of should know the difference ;-) I used to think only roosters have combs but obviously that's not it! And the word chicken, that seems to include adults, but does it include both the rooster and the hen? Questions, questions...
