Afternoon, animal lovers. I don't have any animals anymore but lov'em and often watch all sorts of animal clips on YouTube. This one featuring the chicken police really intrigued me - is there anyone among you that could come up with a theory as to why two fighting rabbits should annoy the roosters to such a degree??

The second video is just a bonus for you cat lovers, no question attached, although if any of you have your own little roomba driver at home, do tell!

woofy that's the reason I don't watch lots of tv programmes, anything dark, gruesome or too confusing is a no-no...so that just about leaves Cbeebies then :o) I had a lovely cheesy Rosamunde Pilcher dvd for xmas (by casual request) & I'm loving it (Coming Home/Nancherrow with Joanna Lumley & Peter O'Toole - 4cds)

My house looks like someone's abandoned it, what with the chic sheets, pile of ironing & general clutter it's very depressing...and an unexpected friend just stopped by for a cuppa...oh well, I'm sure I was fascinating company

Afternoon bunnies and birds. You have nooo idea how thick the blankets of snow are on the shrubs beneath my window. It's pretty. Very impressed by your 7 points Neti (just humour her he he) and personally I now know all there is to know about snow. This morning there were shouting municipality men on my roof bringing it down with shovels (the snow, not the roof) as a precaution. Apparently their job description also says to place it on my window sill.

"What's everybody on about chickens for" - have a look around Vinny, you're in a frickin' barnyard:) There are bunnies fighting and chickens breaking it up and cats driving Roomba machines! Do I have to post Devon chicks for you to take notice? Oh okay http://i45.tinypic.com/1q0kg8.jpg

Can't believe you found that kind of video Robinia, it's brilliant and I had noticed about the tail but the spur difference was new to me. Still confused about the comb but probably, as she says, you have to compare within the same breed. The following video was kindly recommended to me by YouTube. I was just thinking how well they know me when suddenly I noticed they also recommended just for me a vid of an eye popping out. Oh really? Based on my viewing history??? Anyhoo, Chickens of Fire, enjoy! I love it when the... the... the... the brown one jumps like a dog at 0.47 and the running style at 1.16 ha ha ha ha! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ztnxG6PGlU
Well..standards have dropped .A chicken coop ? Still I suppose it will be useful to get rid of all the odd crusts of bread I'm saving up because out of towners are decimating the butchers bakers and candlestickmakers everyday .Bah.
I must be in a minority with Wallander as I love it .Thing is they haven't filmed it in sequence with the books. He is a morose man I suppose .But they don't give you his background so if you haven't read the books then you end up wondering why he is like he is .His lady friend ,Baiba Liepa, isn't even mentioned in the TV series .They started the series on TV with Sidetracked which was actually the fifth book in the series.Never mind ,Mankell has written his last Wallander (sob) and funnily enough he goes on to have Alzheimers like his father which is rather sad.

It's bitterly cold here and I also have clutter everywhere amongst which is a new lav and wash basin for the bathroom which at the moment are stuck in the hall .I sat on the lav this morning to make some phone calls :)
Keep warm .Toodlepip for now .
as long as you do what you're told, Robinia

hm, that chicken doesn't seem as subservient as he used to be. Maybe his suspenders are too tight.
oh, it's okay, he's started behaving

He does a mean moonwalk and sometimes (not every time) when you ask for John Travolta he strikes the pose from Saturday Night Fever, he he he! He does 'horror movie' and 'love story' (of which he also has a whole repertory) and 'tap dance' and 'plead' and 'karate' - it's quite impressive how many words they have thought of. And Jude he goes on forever with 'tai chi'. (But he doesn't cook so that's not subserviant enough!)

And the prize for spelling Wallander correctly goes to: SHANEY!! Shaney is it Kenneth Branagh in the series as well as the films?
Well I'm giving up on all the dark dismal programmes. My favourite of the moment is Shaun The Sheep and if you don't have a laugh at this then there's something wrong. My sister and I sat watching episodes last Saturday, laughing out loud we were.

No Kit ,the films starred Rolf Lassgard and were adapted for Sveedish TV .I have seen some of them with subtitles or dubbed into German . They also did what they do here and had other episodes based on Mankells plots but written by screenwriters .They also had a series of films with Krister Henriksson as Wallander .
Kenneth Branagh has only been in the series shown here .
I've just reserved Mankells latest books at the library actually .The Pyramid ,which is a book of short stories featuring Wallander and pads him out a bit more and The Man from Beijing which is a political thriller .
I must go and dish up some dinner .Mr.S keeps clucking .
Shaun the Sheep may not be everybody's cup of tea it's just one of my quirks!!!!
I just want to say that I've been sitting here contemplating the weather, and it's pretty chilly here also, and I've just remembered the bitterness of an english winter, when the cold gets right through your chest that it hurts, we don't get that here too often, so maybe my jealousy of your weather is forgetfullness. At least you do have warm houses, we don't!!!
ha! TOLD YA neti!!

I love Shaun Jude! And so did my mum. She had a little Shaun on top of her tv that my sister had bought her and we took him into the hospital to visit her just before she died.

mmmm, the subservient chicken's a bit slow nowadays isn't he? Has he been under your floorboards jno?

haha, I taught those running chickens everything I know Kit...same shaped legs too. My sister said she wanted some Emu boots & I told her they'll look lovely on the end of her 'sparra's legs'...heeeee

Are they looting your shops too shaney? Fear not, I've organised a crack security team to keep them out, they won't get past these guys
http://pastapaulie.fi...04/grumpy-old-men.jpg

Speaking of shopping I want a bag (quel surprise)...but why do I seem to be attracted to the ones that cost £400...£600? Who'd pay that much for a shopping bag?.....I wonder? :o)
My dad nicknamed me Spadger he said it was for Sparralegs because I was so thin and he used to say look Spadge there's a bird come for his legs back. No wonder i grew up without much confidence!! Ha Ha!!!
Question Author
Not a great Wallander fan but I do think Branagh's is by far the best, even though I happen to think Lassgård is *blushes* sort of cute- but what's that got to do with anything:)

I liked Shaun too Jude, I laughed out loud several times. Touching story about your mum Robi. My mum had a furry Pink Panther hanging from a hinge where the kitchen door would have been. That panther was the first thing we saw when we opened the door to her place after she had died (at hospital) and it felt really weird. But. Shaun was funny!!! Keep'em coming, Spadge ;-)

Ah yes she's pondering her sins now the Spanish one is... http://i45.tinypic.com/30x7nu8.gif Being cold is awful and being cold indoors is horrible, I can't do anything, it's like body and brain decide to go into hibernation without discussing it with you first, I hate it.

He he... at a quick glance I thought AB had asterisked me for my impure thoughts about Rolf Lassgård, but those were my own asterisks...!

You amaze me Jno How do you do that?!!

Morning all!! BL***Y snowing again. ggggrrrr
Holy headrush jno! have you been hanging there all night? You must have lost the feeling in your legs...in which case you won't be needing those slippers so I'll take them, thank you. It's cold enough to freeze the credentials off a brass monkey & as Jude says, it's Bl00dy snowing again, grrrrr.

'Spadge' (haha, you're gonna regret that Jude)...sounds about right, heaven forbid we had any ideas of being beauty queens eh? Actually it wasn't the jokey mickey taking that hurt, it was more the criticism about ability & personality that stung... hey ho. Maybe if kids today were taught not to take their appearance so seriously they wouldn't be quite so obsessed with it & wouldn't be bleating that they'd been 'bullied' as soon as someone made a passing comment. I don't deny some horrible bullying does go on but if they could laugh it off or ignore it from the start it might not escalate.
Shuttup Robi, you're going off on one....haha

oooh, how lovely, there's a flock of over a dozen reed buntings in my garden.
here you go, Jude...
