Kitchen Doctor

I have received an ok price for doors handles kickboards etc to be replaced in my kitchen. However it is another £1,500 if I wanted the granite countertops. My friend did get the granite with a little sparkle and it is beautiful - what would be your opinion - this kitchen will never be done again. The other counter is laminate. Your opinion please. Thanks for any replies

thanks guys for your answers - my last wee question - is there a lot of work involved cos somebody did say they got kitchen doctor and it was just as much as getting a new kitchen in. I am also going to have to get tiles but I know there are other options to replace the tiles - can you tell me what they would be. I think my neighbour covered her old tiles with this black and white "tinny" thing. It looks good. Thanks again.
For the average kitchen, it's not a huge job to remove worktops. It rather depends on how "conventionally" they have been fitted.
With the removal of a few screws, they should come off ok. Where they're tiled over at the back is often where a certain amount of brute force and disruption occur.
There are options with thin pre-formed reconstituted w/tops are fitted directly over the old ones.
I did a kitchen complete with Earthstone recently, with no splashback at all. Just the painted wall. A lot of people are moving away from traditional tiled backs.
