After Nigel Farage UKIP met Rupert Murdoch he proposed that if Cameron was to step down UKIP would merge with the Tory Party giving them on paper a huge majority of voters at the next election.

We all know how leading politicians have such a feeling of self worth they hardly ever put their party first ahead of their own ambitions.

"next big bang will likely come from the Middle East, so who cares what happens in EU."

I don't know Em, they're crawling towards modernity :)

Noth, please ignore my comment, your exchange wasn't there when I started typing.
perhaps when i have time or the inclination i will get around to reading it, and i am undecided as yet as to whether this peace everyone keeps talking about is lasting and to do with the creation of the EEC/EU.
Not Europe or the Middle East we should at this moment be concerned about, have you seen or read the news regarding North Korea?

By the way where's AB Editor? At the very mention of the word usernames he bu**ers off, :0)
Ups I see he is back.
Yes, scary stuff that AOG (North Korea - not the Ab Editor)
Ab Editor, not sure that is the case, if anything some seem to be going backwards, in many countries that had been thought more modern in their politics and indeed democracy, we are seeing more hardline leaders, dictators take command, and women who had more freedom, say in Afghanistan, even Turkey, are being made for want of a better way to look at it, to start covering up, and being denied rights they had before. Maybe this is a slow road, but i don't see what happens across much of the Middle East, Arab world, as being particularly good for women especially.

off topic, looked at your link about name change, so it's still being looked into?
AB Editor

Sorry about that I have just turned the page over and noticed your reply.

Do hope it's nothing serious with 'the developer' and that he/she will soon be back.

North Korea is tricky isn't it... I mean, the glorious leader is properly mad...

Some compare it to Iran, but ImADinnerJacket is a moderate in their system.

Em10, it does appear to be a bad time to have ovaries in the middle east... There's been fewer inter-state wars in the area in recent years however, which is a step in the right direction.
a moderate who said that he wanted to wipe Israel off the map, i know the North Koreans leader is a loon, but did he saying anything remotely as provocative.
I don't know ...

I go off for some lunch and other people come on and make a much better job of making the case...

I'll take that as a sign and go and do some work (sigh)

"a moderate who said that he wanted to wipe Israel off the map, i know the North Koreans leader is a loon, but did he saying anything remotely as provocative."

I didn't say he was very tasteful!

Kim fancies wiping out S. Korea, the US and others in a similar manner though.

We should probably leave Iran and the Israel/Palestine civil war aside as that's always a looped recording :)
if you look at the link i provided, it does not make for edifying reading, i recall Naomi saying as much that many things have changed in Egypt and not for the better, particularly for it's women... so backwards not forwards, and i find similar situation in UK, that one step forward and two back..
