Woke up with this this morning. Had a bit of trouble opening my eye. I've cleaned the yukky stuff out and wiped my eye with a damp cotton pad. Do I need to go to my GP tomorrow or will it go away on its own?

I suggest you go to the chemist and buy some Chloramphenicol eye drops. They are what your GP would prescribe but you can now buy them over the counter.

Thanks Mrs O :o) That'll save me a trip to the GP.
O agree with Mrs_O...prefer the ointment to the drops, but that is a matter of personal preference.

The last time I had it was about 30 years ago and I was prescribed this creamy coloured stuff which you applied with a nozzle onto the edge of the eyelid. Didn't like that. Think I prefer drops Sqad.
Drops are my preferred choice too
LOL........."white flag raised"
Of course the drops take longer to work I'm with the good doctor on this one But if you want the drops get them in the single dose minims as they are easier to use and cleaner
