Where should we go?

I'm desperate to get a holiday booked for late May/early June for just my partner and I. We have no idea where to go! We don't want to do the usual Spain/Baleric Islands thing, somwehere a bit more romantic! We've never been to Greece before so that's a possibility. Budget is about �600 each for 2 weeks. We'd like a beach holiday with other activites like maybe a waterpark and a shopping mall etc. The main criteria is that there is a nice little town we can wander to in the evening. Preferably somewhere like Albufeira Old Town in the Algarve? But nowhere chavvy! Does anyone have any suggestions?

Characterful town full of rat run market alley ways for evening mooching..

Big ol' castle on the hill overlooking the village.

Have a look at Lindos in Rhodes.

That is somewhere I looked at to go last year! But instead we went back to Albufeira. Will look into that one, thanks!

i love the old town in albufeira,we went in october with our 4 mionth old son,it was great wandering around all the streets with the street entertainers,why dont you try further up portugal,carvoero(spelling)is supposed to be really nice,no chavs!!

how about paphos in cyprus?? it will be lovely at that time!!

Any greek island would be lovely. Check out ones where they have water parks,crete or rhodes maybe. Cyprus is lovely too,and the west coast is less chavy.That area is at its best in late spring before the families arrive!

Tavira in the Algarve is very touristy, but not chavvy. Great beaches, nice old town and big riverside outside area with marhet and restaurants.
