I had cubed extra lean (not-halal) lamb (bought at farmers market, known butcher all my life) I've made into a hot pot for me and my sons, daughter is out and husband is having an offal-fest with a friend out. the fresh rosemary and the sweet new-season carrots, onions with lamb stock smells lovely. we all love the soft but crispy round the edges potatoes so I make more in my lasagne dish. M&S bought cherry pie with cream or custard for pud.
I've got some pork marinating, a salad of lettuce, fennel, pepper and red onion prepped and a sort of tzatziki made from creme fraiche all waiting for me to get in the kitchen to cook the pork. It will all be stuffed in fresh pitta, with some chilli sauce.
No coccinelle, I made a lamb hot pot. chunks of lamb, onions and carrots, fresh rosemary, lamb stock, salt and pepper, covered in sliced potato. My lasagne dish is the white 10x12 inch white dish i made extra crispy potatoes in.
i make a greek style mousaka with minced lamb and sliced potato and fried aubergine with a bechamel sauce
quiche, the caesar salad makings that I couldn't find last night but discovered in the passenger side footwell this morning, coleslaw, tomatoes and the imaginary potatoes I forgot to buy today...
Lovely Ummmm! The lamb we had last night was lush! Today I cooked a big gammon joint. Boiled it for an hour then took the skin off and slapped on some of my mother's dark Seville orange marmalade and roasted it for another hour and twenty, did colcannon with it. Hubby said he'd take a sandwich of it with mustard, got news for him, got to make three quiches first. Magnums for pud or Asda Pineapple sorbet
We have just had (im on a diet) a fillet of smoked fish with two boiled eggs and bread and butter followed by a sliced banana with a little natural yoghurt, bloody nice it was too!!!!
