Mountain Climbing Against Advise
On the news again tonight, some people went up a mountain, against advise and after a warning of bad weather, result, the emergency services had to rescue them in dreadful conditions and putting their own lives at risk, whats wrong with these stupid people? and would they think twice if they had to pay to be saved? its not as if it were acidental that they were there, it was a deliberate act of stupidity, makes my blood boil.

why AOG? danger on the road is a risk to others but if you go up a mountain, you are only putting yourself at risk. Mountain rescue is a volunteer organisation, they could choose not to rescue idiot or choose to charge or choose to only rescue people who have paid a h=fee beforehand but they don't. IMO its between them and the people they rescue and not the business of anyone else.
btw i think that people who go mountain climbing are mad and the people who do it in bad weather are both mad and stupid!

I would have been very interested to hear the conversation that took place when these selfish people were advised Not to go up the mountain.
Did it go something like this........
"Yes, we're wearing woefully inadequate clothing and the weather is going to become dangerous. Yes, we are risking our lives and those of the Mountain Rescue Team but hey, it's a free country so we're going to do it anyway."
