Charged With Abh Section 47

My friends being charged with abh, whats the likely out come, ..? The 3rd party was the aggressor, starting straight away, oh yeh what you gona do.having feeling intimated and threatened he swung out with a pint pot. This is all on cctv. Even though he wasn't the aggressor whats he looking at, bearing in mind not been in trouble for 8 yrs, family man, full time job, canyou advise.

Your friend was provoked but instead of ignoring it and walking away he hit the guy with a glass. That makes him guilty. Abh is very seldom a prison offence and this is at the low end of the scale . He needs to plead guilty and tell the court how sorry he is, I would be VERY surprised if he gets more than a small fine or possibly a few hours community service.

Eddies51 , the plot thickens my friend, on arrival at court , it was said by cps if hr doesnt plead guilty, and goes for trial and fought guilty then the charge would be upd to s20 gbh, thats un fare ,blackmail id say, now whats the out come !
