Recording ITV2 etc
3 Answers
I am sure in my last place I used to record ITV2 (but had to have that channel on while I was recording) but now in my new place I only seem to be able to select the four normal channels on my video ... or was I dreaming ? Is there a way of recording those channels ?

The ITV2 signal which leaves your Freeview box is in the form of separate audio and video signals (and not as a radio frequency). For this reason, you can't tune your video recorder to receive the right radio frequency (because there isn't one). What you need to do is to tell your video recorder to record the audio and video signals directly. To do this, you need to set the channel to be recorded to 'AV'. The video recorder will then record the output of the Freeview box (assuming, of course, that they're connected together by either a Scart lead or by AV leads). So, as long as the Freeview box is set to Channel 6 (ITV2) you'll be able to record your chosen programmes.

Thank you for your prompt reply .. er .. I am just trying to understand ...yes I have freeview and the way I get to the video channel on the tv (a new Sony digital) is to scroll on the remote .. the first one is the TV the second one is AV2 which is what I select when I want the video channel the next is AV3 which is a ghosted out AV2 which I ignore and the next one is the DVD. So when I record I select AV2 on the TV remote as above and then I can scroll through BBC 1, 2, ITV and Channel 4 and record any of those. So I am still not quite sure how to set the channel to be recorded to 'AV' as you said. Sorry to be dim! Yes they are connected by Scart leads .. oh and my Freeview is built into the TV, I have no box.
