Been more or less housebound in the evening since my dear wife moved into a nursing home in February.
My old pal who, with his wife, shared our love of sequence dancing keeps pressing to go for a quiet pint.
Well tonight i did ! He even picked me up and took me down to the local where we enjoyed a real good natter - no idea how much happier i feel - not the ale - just sheer friendship.
When I think of all these sick folk wielding guns, I appreciate how lucky I am to have a mate who is willing to take me out of the rut for a couple of hours.
Lucky me.
Goodnight all

yes indeed, I have reason to know what a blessing friends are.
glad you enjoyed the evening and the company jack, Mum and Dad were sequence dancers for 20 years and they ran 2 different clubs, where they were the lead dancers and were always learning new dances, they had great dancing holidays in lots of places like Scarborough where it was a big dancing weekend. I think they went to the tower ballroom alot too. It;s that sort of activity that kept them busy but sadly Dad was left alone, 9 months later his friends at the dancing club found him a lady to start dancing with and it did help him get out and about again. It was a very social scene for them and they made many good friends.
All the best Jack. Hope you have many more pints and natters ♥ G
Awh, so pleased for you, jacklee. Hopefully the first of many such nights. You deserve a break.
They certainly are jacklee .I've been really grateful for the friendships in my life over the years .Sleep well .
Jack I'm pleased you have good friends, there are so many lonely people who sit at home bored stiff. x

Hi Jack :) it's good to get out sometimes, and what a difference it could make! Glad to know you enjoyed your friend's company, and time out. A true friend is invaluable and someone to be treasured. All the best x
Glad your friend took you out jack. Less terror on the pavements with you not on your scooter! ;-)
Jack,I lost my Wife after 50 years of Marriage last year,I now make sure I go out every Friday(sometimes I have to force myself)to see all the "Lads" who looked after me after my sad event. Good Luck too you.
Glad you enjoyed it jacklee, perhaps you ought to do it more often.

Great to hear, jack, and there really is no good reason why you can't go dancing now and then.
Your wife being in a nursing home must be very tough on you and you need to keep yourself well in mind and body for visiting time - a depressed and lonely jacklee will be no good at all to her.
Make the most of your time outside visiting times - it won't mean you love or miss your wife less.
I feel for you. God bless
Glad you're feeling better Jacklee, enjoy yourself as much as you can, friendship is priceless.xx
There is no price on true friends, they are literally beyond compare. Glad you had a good time and many more to come. ☺
