Recycling

I bought a lamp shade today, and this has a label with a symbol showing a crossed out wheelie bin.
Does anyone know what this means? If a lamp shade shouldn't be disposed of in landfill / in a wheelie bin, how should it be disposed of? It doesn't fit into any of the obvious recycling categories.

It looks as if the crossed out bin mark applies to the lamp, rather than the shade. WEEE stands for Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment Directive, and a lamp shade can't be described as electronic or electrical, so I suspect that some over-keen jobsworth has put the icon on everything that ever gets anywhere near electricity....
