Changing my car

I am driving a Honda HRV at the moment and I am very happy with it. However, it is now 6 years old and I realy need to change it. I am looking for a similar type/size of car (if they still made the HRV I would be happy to buy another) as I like the driving position and ease of getting in and out. I probably need a diesel because of my 60 mile round trip to work and I like the automatic. I think I have come down to a choice between the Nissan X trail and the new Suzuki Vitara. Does anyone have any views on or own one of these or have ideas of any other model that I might take a look at?

I would avoid a suzuki at all costs. Try another Honda would be my advice. The engines simply do not go wrong.

Further have you considered a Toyota RAV4. Not as trendy as others but as reliable as a Honda.

Also consider a Discovery. They hold the value well and if looked after, the best 4x4 system EVER.

I 'need' to change it because it is beginning to show it's age as in things beginning to go wrong. Particularly the transmission, which is a new fangled system and could be very expensive if it does go completely. Also, since my divorce last year, I do not have a handy man around to look after it for me. Not that I am one of these women that can't do things for herself (I used to do most of the DIY when he was here) but I'm afraid cars and engines are beyond me! The plan is that I will change the car now and again every three years. That way I will always have a car with a manufacturers warranty on it.
