Cheating in Rocky?

Hi, I remember in Rocky IV (or Rocky V) that it is revealed that Ivan Drago was putting metal in his gloves in order to devastate his opponents.

I remember it from childhood but have never seen or heard of it again. My brother also remembers it, so I don't think I'm wrong but could someone out there confirm this is right or wrong? It's bugged me for years and I'd appreciate any help

Can't speak about Rocky (I didn't want to know after the thrird one because I thought they were milking it TOO much) but I saw this in a CSI episode the other night. One boxer weighted his gloves by putting mercury in them, and if I remember right it was the mercury coming out of them that contributed to the other boxers death.

i cant recall metal in his gloves but he certainly cheated thru extensive drugs useage.

i have to say though that this film is really bad !!!!

mattk is right. Steroids were used.

the metal in the glove may be from the movie "The Harder They Fall"

It couldn't have been "The Harder they Fall" coz it was in colour, and not that old. It was more 80's and I remember a computer screen showing the gloves and a thin layer of metal in them. I'm starting to think I'm losing it!
