These kind of questions are so difficult to answer as it's hard to pin down so few songs and it all depends on the mood you're in. The kind of songs that would be in my top five include (1) New Order, "Blue Monday" (original version), (2) The Smiths, "How soon is now" (3) Chic "My forbidden lover" (4) Soft Cell "Sex Dwarf" and (5) Daft Punk "Voyager". Bit of a mixed selection, but all except (5), because it's recent, have 'stood the test of time' and are tracks that I still love and play now 20 years or so after first hearing them.

sft42 made his/ her selection on a duplicate question:

Pink Floyd - Shine on you crazy diamond...just because it's fantastic
Level 42 - Leaving me now....one of the most under-rated love/breaking up songs ever
Natalie Imbruglia - Torn...a piece of pop perfection
Manic Street Preachers - Motorcycle Emptiness....balls-out rocking stuff
and lastly not one many people will know the Fureys - Red Rose Cafe...the first ever song i sang live at a paying gig where I was sh!tting bricks...a moment never to be forgotten
Micheal Jackson - Billie Jean, Man in the mirror. Stevie wonder - signed sealed delivered, sir duke, superstition, pass time paradise .Guns n roses - november rain, sweet chils of mine, paradise city.Des'ree - life.i know thats more than five but i have so many favourites i cant choose. i could go on but thats the jist of my faves.
I agree with miss zippy so mannnnny songs depends on my mood the day the week the year. So my fav.s at the moment are as follws: The Stylistics 'People make the world go round' Dead Kennedys 'Nazi punks f**K Off' Also big fan of the Smiths but since missy nabbed em i'll use Maze 'joy and Pain' (oh definitely one of my favs at the mo, live version) Only one more left Stevie Wonder 'these three words' I can come back every day and give you more. Music is life, it is the only global factor i can deal with anyways gotta go.
