Last week Toshiba put on show a prototype of their new HDDVD (High Density DVD) It will hold 6times as much data as the ones available today...they hope to market it in Japan next year....It is part of the Blue Ray group who hope to have just one DVD format that will be compatible with computers and home viewing devices(this is a critical point for the group)....Sony and Matsushita(Pioneer) are already onboard.... they want to release HDDVD's that will have crystal clear vision. on a darker note in the U.S. the group is being investigated regarding alleged efforts to stymie the growth of present day dvd technology in favor of their own.

yes you need to get dual layer discs but you do need a dual layer dvd drive to burn them try http://www.svp.co.uk/index.php unless you have a computer shop near you like web systems or energy just ask for dual layer discs.

Hope this helps, Nikki.
