the cylinder on the lifting device seems to have come through the wheel assembly,and is catching on the floor, making it hard to move.do i need a new cylinder?.thanks for any info.

...I think you need a new chair - & maybe go on a diet __ lol.

It could be as simple as a pin in the bottom to stop the shaft from going through the bottom, but yeah, treat yourself to a new chair, you know you want one.

I suspect the frame for the wheels has cracked, if the central pillar has dropped through it.

Buy a new chair.
