I have had an email purporting to come from Virgin Media saying they are making changes and asking me to update my profile. Does anyone know if this is genuine or a scam. So afraid of this not being what it seems.

But if you still want to be sure that your profile is up-to-date then, rather than clicking on any links in the email, go directly to Virgin Media in your browser https://my.virginmedia.com/home/index
If ever concerned, don't click on any link in the received e-mail but go to the site "under your own steam" and see if there is anything you should know. Make it a habit to always contact the company rather than respond to an incoming initial e-mail.
If you are a VM customer their emails will always contain your customer reference number and will address you by your correct name. They are never addressed to dear sir/madam/customer etc.
