I have 1 VHS video I would like transfering to DVD. I am aware of what I need to do be able to do this but for only 1 video it seems a bit of an expense. Are there any high street stores that offer VHS to DVD copying services.

yeah loads..most photo developing places offer this kinda service so check out your local high street.

As Jennifer has stated, the majority of High Street photoprocessing shops offer this service (although it's far from cheap).

Remember, however, that these firms will only transfer 'home-videos'. They will refuse to transfer pre-recorded movies (or programmes recorded from TV) because this would be illegal.

Thanks for the replies...

It is a home video so no copyright laws will be infringed.

When you say it's not cheap Chris, what are we talking roughly?

I'd do it for a fiver plus p&p.
High Street prices are often around 25. On-line firms generally charge about 20. SpiderWeb Systems charge 9 for a 1-hour tape, 17 for a 2-hour one:
