British Gypsum is another one.

I doubt they would let me know what their unit costs are and who the best gypsum suppliers are?

Make and model of the machine would be helpful info I could ask them as well as costs of set up and running of course.
As far as I am aware, most plaster decorative pieces are poured into moulds and removed when they are set. I would assume that silicone rubber moulds would be the best for this type of work.

Here's some examples of pieces but not the manufacturing process.

Here's a Wikipedia article with a little on plaster casting.

good links Mortar..

Thank you
I remember watching a guy do really ornate mouldings on a ceiling in the Albert Hall Mansions, he was really amazing and he made all the fancy decorative moulding in the same room he was doing the ceiling, He made every rose/ivy leaf and flower separately, Casting plaster will dry in a mould in a couple of minutes. I used to use casting plaster a lot but not for moulds or casting. It is very easy to work with. This was back in the 80's he was on about £500 a day back then. You really need to be artistic to do this work unless you want to make boring conventional stuff that you can buy in B&Q
