Hotmail Log In Problems

I have the hotmail app on my ipad so never need to log in.
I have not used hotmail on my computer for a couple months and now find I can not log in. When I go to "favourites" and click on hotmail up comes "log in to Microsoft account". Am I doing something wrong or has something changed?

Hotmail has been replaced by Outlook. Most people seem to think that's not a good thing- but yes, that's what's changed.

How did you 'log-in' prior to Hotmail becoming Outlook.?

I have never used Hotmail so I havn't a clue about 'logging-in' to the aforementioned E/mail services. However,I would have thought that although Hotmail has now become Outlook, the same Usernames and passwords would still apply.
