Something you can eat anytime of the day or night. I like to lightly toast my bread first, slightly butter it ,add a smidgen of marmite and generous amounts of grated cheese then continue to toast it until the cheese is gooey. Perfect.
OH skips buttering the toast and adding marmite, prefers sliced cheese to grated and adds chopped onion or a few slices of tomato with his, and sometimes adds a dash of Worcestershire sauce.
Wholemeal bread, toast on one side then turn over. If you wish, lightly butter the other side, then a thin layer of mayonnaise. Grate mature cheddar on top & sprinkle with ground cumin. Grill until nicely brown. Beautifully tangy.
Crispy fried bacon and finely chopped onion on lightly toasted thick bread, then slice cheese to a medium thickness and grill on a medium heat so it all melts without burning. Delicious with sauce of choice ( mine is fruity ).
Toast bread one side, sometimes Marmite, depending on mood, sliced strong cheese and I sprinkle some paprika over the cheese,,, makes it go a golden brown colour and adds a little extra yum.
Toast bread very lightly, no butter, mature cheddar and baby tomatoes or tomato ketchup. OH butters his bread, pops in microwave, then adds lots of brown sauce and baby tomatoes, if feeling adventurous, add some crispy bacon on top - yum!
