I have put my holiday photos onto my laptop and have made into a powerpoint presentation so that I can send to friends by email. (I use Microsoft Office Powerpoint 2007). I have done this before with approx 110 photos being 20 mb but on this occasion I have 140 pics and 127mb so is far to big. I just cannot remember how I reduced them the last time or what I did - can anyone help? many thanks
Why not put them up on a website and save all that bandwidth.
Sites like Facbook, Flickr etc can all accept uploaded photographs.
And I have to say, I am not sure I would want to look at 140 pictures of my friends holiday (not sure I would want to look at 140 pictures of my own holiday).
thanks for your response but i prefer not to put on facebook and yes in my opinion it really was that good. Had done a fair bit of travelling so hence why lots of pics. I would not be my intention to bore anyone with them it is just in the past if anyone has asked to see pics of my trips I found emailing them was the best way. As I said I have managed to reduce the file size before but unsure how I did that.
You need to re-size the photos used in your ppt. Best way to do this is:
1. from your folders view, copy the photos you want and paste them into a new folder.
2. open this new folder and go to your first photo. right-click and choose open with > microsoft office picture manager
3. use picture manager to work thru the pics resizing them, then close the program - it will ask you if you want to save your changes - say OK.
This way you don't permanently reduce the size of your original photos but you get a manageable batch for using as you described.
