Car Insurance - Overnight Storage
my brothers vehicle is registered as being kept in a garage overnight - and most nights it is, however, i am a named driver and there have been some nights that I have kept it at my house overnight and sometimes i stay at my boyfriends house overnight.
I also have no doubt he has left it outside my folks house or elsewhere on occasion too.
I seem to remember the wording on the forms being regarding where it is 'most often' kept at night, and there was no mention that it MUST be kept there at all times, or of it being uninsured if the vehicle is not there one night, nor any sort of hours of acceptable times etc.
so question is, if something happened to it overnight, while it was at my house, rather than in the garage, would the insurance try to get out of paying?
Its with more than
Thanks

We have accepted your insurance on condition that your car is kept overnight in a locked and secured garage. Failure to comply with this condition may mean we will refuse to deal with any claim arising from your car being maliciously damaged, lost or stolen.

My More Than insurance schedule says ...."it is parked overnight in a locked garage in the XXX XXX postal area".
So you could say that it only needs to be in a locked garage when in THAT postal area ie when at "home".
You could ring to clarify the matter - I've always found them helpful in the Liverpool office: 0800 980 8735.
