Muscle Twitches
12 Answers
Please don't say I'm odd but...... of late i am getting a lot of twitches (I think you must know what I'm on about - like when the corner of your eye flickers). Most recently I am getting these twitches on my thigh muscle and upper arm. The most annoying one was on my left big toe, causing it to move right, away from the other toes. What is causing these and are they likely to get more frequent as I get older? I am 37. I have read previous posts on ths from last year but am interested if its still going on (possibly to do with the warm weather)?

Don't feel bad jno I though exactly the same when I saw this Q - then I realised the slight difference with the name!
Sorry HappyFace this isn't answering you is it? I get lots of twitching & it drives me mad especially one I get near my shoulder blade. Tiredness, over-worked muscles seem to aggravate it but I don't have any proper explanation I'm afraid.
I get this twitchy thing as well. It's usually in the muscle below my left eye which drives me insane! I get very self concious 'cos I think everyone can see it even though they probably can't.
I asked about it when I had my contact lens checkup last week because I thought they might be causing it but the optician instantly said "Stress"! He'd obvoiusly heard it a hundred times before.
I'm usually too laid back for stress, but work has been quite heavy lately. I sometimes get a twitch in other stupid places as well, my right thumb for example.
I also talked about it with a friend who gets exactly the same type of thing under the same scenarios. So I think it's probably stress, although quite low level stress, aprehensiveness maybe?
