Ipad Won't Charge

Ipad won't recharge. Have tried all advice about rebooting it but still no. When pressing off button with sleep button, just get battery icon with thin red strip in centre of black screen. Nothing will change this. Been on charge for over 4 hours, took no charge at all. Help its so baffling

Mains or computer, if computer try mains adaptor and leave for at least an hour before trying to turn it on
