Can Anyone Help Find The Author Of This Quote

I'm not sure if this was the exact phrase or not, "If it looks wrong, it probably is." Does anyone know who said this originally? I must not have the correct wording, because I can't find the person who said it anywhere online. Thanks for your help!

I thought the saying was 'if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.'
Probably said by innumerable people throughout history, from the time of cavemen up to the present day!
And there will be all sorts of variations of it - I doubt if there's one 'real' version
another for you to see.

No, I think it was an engineer of some sort who was talking about designing or building something.
