I fell out of bed about 3 weeks ago - am inclined to squeeze into about a third of the bed (no reason) but since then my back or rather my upper hip/lower back is in dreadful pain. I am writing this cos I did think ok give it about 2-3 weeks but it is really painful.

I just take the usual painkillers but of course no good and I think going to the doctors wouldn't be good either.

I am not limping etc - just feel extreme pain on left side of body - can anybody suggest some kind of relief - thank you. Conne

As when I am at home I try to rest, move etc. thanks everybody I am going to ask doctor for codibar and buy I think it is raljex - but it does feel like a broken bone or a chipped bone. Conne
Well if it feels like a broken bone or chipped bone then you need to go ASAP

The longer you leave it the worse it will be

Elvis I had my cousin ( an old nun with me last Monday) long long story - she anyway lives in Liverpool thought she could make it to Ireland and fell promptly in Ireland breaking 2 ribs - - came down to me on Monday and slept for 2 hours off and on (actually more off) - to me was taking heavy duty medication for the broken ribs and was sleeping away. So to me this was hospitals would offer (sleep away with the pain).
You can't "sleep away" broken bones

You've had good advice on here tonight and you'd be a fool to ignore it
Go to A&E for an X-Ray.

What can an X-Ray do......snow if you have cracked your neck of femur and if there are any other concomitant disorders...e.g O.A.

What can they do?....depends....pin it OR replace the hip if severe O.A.

Your call.
conn. gp asap.
