I have driven bare, but you tend to stick to the seats a lot if you've got leather.

It's not a political hobby horse jayne.

It's simply highlighting a matter of which people may not be aware. As you say, large numbers of people are wearing flip-flops at the moment (ghastly things IMO, totally naff and appropriate only for use around a swimming pool, but no matter). It's also true that many people are driving in them. As with a number of things (using a mobile phone, fiddling with a radio, drinking to excess, eating their breakfast, doing their makeup, slurping coffee) lots of drivers do not consider the dangers posed to others by their inappropriate behaviour when driving. This is just a reminder.

I can comfortably drive in my birkies but not Havianas (sp?), I definitely can't drive barefoot!

I don't have any Havis, because they all seem to have the moulded T bar, rather than a soft fabric one like, say, O'Neills.

I meant, I can't remember if Birkenstock flippy style shoes have a hard T, or a soft fabric one. I have a feeling it's hard.

It's a hard T but I don't find them uncomfortable. I've never tried soft T's, a new experience to look forward to and perhaps a chance to shrug off my yogurt weaver image ;-)

Eccles, they come with a piece of soft, folded fabric, which is much easier on the toes.
