Garden Fire Ashes

I had a garden fire and have quite a lot of ashes left over
Is there anything I can do with for instance spreading them over the garden or will it cause problems?

The ash from garden bonfires is a useful source of potash and may be beneficial in improving the soil structure of some soils

The ashes are quite alkaline...so be careful where you use them.

Good if you are planning to plant peas.

It's rich in potassium and will be good to scatter it around apple & PEAR tree/s.
No good for acid loving plants like blueberries though.
