Vasectomy Reversal - Nhs

My husband had a vasectomy, at his GP surgery, a few years ago. He did this on the grounds of me suffering horrendous post natal depression and the fact I nearly died during child birth.

He has now sprung it on me that he'd like another child.
I have mixed feelings about this but can see/understand his reasons for wanting another child.

How does this work, with regards to getting a reversal done? Can this be done via his GP surgery, or would it need to be private?
Are they, on the whole, successful?

Thanks.

he has sprung this on you... and you are just doing it ... at no point have you said you want one too... and presumably when he had it done you must have been adamant there were to be no more kids...

why did you nearly die? freak issue or something that will happen again?

regarding the reversal - book him in to the clinic - for the week before he goes away, haha
as far as i know, NOM's ex had his vasectomy reversal done on the NHS, so it is possible. It's probably case fact dependent though - ie he was with a woman who didn't have any kids already,(whereas in this case he has simply changed his mind, and is still with the mother of his other 2 kids)
I wonder though, if the fact it's a fairly major procedure might put him off?
I know that you haven't asked for people's advice, just facts but you/he needs to consider that it's best not to get pregnant while on the medications you are on, but being off them might cause PRE natal depression
