Cant find my dad

Can anyone tell me what is the best way to find my dad. I havnt him for 28 years i was 2 years old. I have no idea what to do i have tried the electrol role with no results. Can somebody help me. Karen

The Salvation Army do that sort of thing. Good luck but be prepared for rejection maybe he doesn't want to be found

you can try searching the births marriages and deaths archives to see if he has either remarried or died and have you checked the electoral role for the whole of the UK, as he may not be in the area you anticipate? If not you can do so free of charge by using the people finder on B4Usearch. You'll have to search by a county at a time but it shouldn't really take much above an hour.

There is a place in Newcastle that if you send a sealed letter to him, address it to whoever and add his date of birth if u know it, and they forward it to him if he is still alive, It is where they have all the National insurance Numbers, if he is still alive and living in the UK they will have his current address, i shall try to find the addy for you

I agree the salvation army helped me find my dad 9 years ago i hadnt seen him in 16 years but i think thay need some basic knowledge of him like his name,where he lived approx age GOOD LUCK p.s Dont go out with your heart on your sleave cause i wasnt to plesed when i met mine and havent seen him since. Just remember you have only heard one side of the story for all these years have an open mind!
