Good morning everyone - a slightly lesser version of 'mad Monday' here but I have to be out the door by 11.00am so moving right along .....

Three very getable matches and one somewhat more obscure - so obscure that we all missed it, they were -

Snow Drop
Index Finger
Hand Bell !!
Canada Geese

I think Kate has gone for Geese, I haven't completed my copy of the Herculis yet, but I'm paying out on Goose as well.

and the STAR TURNS came from FIBONACCI, BRIZZER & LYSANDER who all collected 6 points for three correct matches and an excellent start to the new month.

Lots of points in fact, over 110 and that's without anyone selected Hand Bell so a very good start and hoping it bodes well for a cracking September.
So all on deck for next Saturday, and I'll see you then skz

And a brief Leader Board, as mentioned

6 points - Fibonacci, brizzer & lysander

3 points - 24 players

1 point - 24 players

Congratulations to all points scorers, keep up the good work .... Steff

Thanks, Steff.
Thanks skz. Ah, hand bells! There are some tunes I can never hear without singing the numerical notation (3 3 3 4, 4 5 4 3 2 3, 4 5 1 4 3 2 1; a Victorian song, I think, also played by the Church clock in St Mary's Warwick. Think of middle C as 1, if I remember right).
hello seekeerz - myself and kawakiri also had DROP, FINGER, GOOSE if I'm not mistaken??
Our posts are on the 2nd page next to each other

Oh heck, where was my brain when I scored that, sorry roslyn and also to Karakiri, you both get STARS for 6 points and apologies, apologies, apologies !!
Thank you!!
Thanks, Seekerz.

Well, tearinghair, you have the basis for a new quiz - 'guess the tune from handbell notation'. Nearest I could get to was 'Abide With Me'. Perhaps I should stick with KM Links and my one point!
Morning Steph. In your summing up totals you have players on one and three. I had two correct but out of bonus time so by my reckoning I'm on two points. Keep up the good work.

HandBagLady - with two correct answers, you get 3 points, scoring on KM is different from MM, so you're one of the 24 with 3 points - good going !!
It's 'Drink to me only with thine eyes'. Rose Maybud. A Victorian parlour song, I think - imagine the singer standing by the piano, accompanied by her sister, gazing soulfully into her lover's eyes... I can do While Shepherds Watched and Bluebells of Scotland too. Weekly lessons when I was at junior school! I played #8, which was an octave above middle C. We only had one bell each, but I think handbell 'choirs' usually have a bell in each hand.

Amazing talents that people on AB have !!

And while I remember it - a message for pixie373, (and for anyone else who wants to take a look ) the beautiful pieces of sculpture in metal were made by one of the blokes here on AB and he needs the work so if anyone can do anything to help, go for it !! Rhapsodyinsteel is the site, take a look and be amazed !!
Just shows that your first thoughts are often the best! Don't change your mind! Thanks Seekeerz
