Ipad Notes Not Opening

Hope someone can help with this problem. This morning when I opened ipad notes I noticed that one of my notes was missing. I deleted what I thought was a duplicate of another note & since then I can't open the ipad notes app. I've tried the method of tapping the home screen button & pressing the minus button on apps & then doing a reset. Is there any way to get the notes app working again ? Thanks for any help

Have you tried switching the device off then on again, that usually jumpstarts it.
