How fantastic, can you get yourself a guide book as there is soooo much to see and do. It was years ago that I went but Uffizi is a must, Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens especially if the sun is shining.

Many thanks, rr.
A couple of links which you might find useful:

(that one link is possibly better than some guide books!)

Keep all your valuables stuffed down your knickers. Florence is second only to Rome in the sheer quantity and expertise of its pickpockets. I speak from bitter experience !

several shops around the Ponte Vecchio sell fantastic leather gloves, beautifully made
Caathedral

Baptistry inside and out

never made it to the Laurentian Library and now can't say what I wanted to see.

Any or all churches for the art history of course

Oh, chapel of the Pazzi

You lucky lucky wabbit !
We were there in May, but as it was only a stop on our cruise, it was only for the day. Fabulous marble statues in the square. Uffizi had a queue a mile long, so we gave that a miss and just wandered around. Spent a while on the Ponte Vecchio and that was just lovely. Duomo is fab and HUGE. I'm sure you'll love it.
