hi, one of the handles on my pruners has got stuck, have tried to get some oil in the top of them but they will not budge, anyone got any suggestions, thank you

you could try heating the area thats stuck hot tap water is hot enough then spraying with WD 40 and as it cools it might draw the Wd into the stuck area
Also try white spirit

Brute force. Twisting the handle may help. Look out for a muscular neighbour ;-)
forgot try tapping all round stuck area with a hammer too
Heat it up using a hair drier - then try.

hi again, just to let you know Rowanwitch, the hot water and wd40 has worked, we had already tried the tapping with hammer etc, so thank you so much for your help

The same thing happened to my loppers when I tried to bite a bit more than they could chew, nothing thicker than your thumb, I seem to remember being told (the rule of thumb) to late damage done!.
I just use them fully extended now, at least they still work.

With mine,one of the arms had bent slightly and went a little oval and preventing the arm sliding back. If this is the problem, I guess you could try to make it round again by putting it in a vice but you would have to be sooo precise.
