Since the school had not previously put a restriction on what could or what could not be worn, were they out of order in making the pupil remove the said uniform?

Pity this piece was in the Guardian, I am sure if it had been the Daily Mail, they may have shown a photograph on the pupil in the Hitler Uniform complete with a little moustache, instead of just showing us the real thing, as if we had forgotten what Hitler looked like.

Thank you for the link Gromit, I don't know from where he got that jacket, but it fits the part extremely well, very Bavarian.

I know Hitler wasn't Bavarian before you all come down on me, but you get my gist surely?
The photo is copyrighted to the Sun which is why the Guardian (or anyone else) couldn't use it.
Would they have a Little Red Riding Hood theme with no wolf?
Indeed we get your gist, AOG. Not Bavarian by birth, Hitler started his rise to power in Bavaria, the Nuremberg rallies were in Bavaria, even his holiday retreat, the Berghof, was in Bavaria; he was, by habit and adoption, a Bavarian. Pretty sure there are pictures extant which show him dressed as a Bavarian, so the parent may have been more accurate than she thought.
