Right I been visiting the chiropractors the last few weeks, this has been on a Friday and arranged after work. They have told me Im to go to Dorset this Friday on a breakdown visit, this is a 10 hour round trip not including anything that needs to be done whilst there.I told them it would be impossible to get back for the appointment I have at 4.30,they have basically said we didn't know about it so youll have to miss it.Contract is 8 hour days 40 hour week, with maybe some unpaid overtime when requested.Where do I stand here ?.

What's the issue, can't you just ring the chiropractor and change the appointment? It's what I have to do, if work gets in the way of private arrangements.
i also dont really understand why you are asking legal advice over this ... just change the appointment
