I need to buy rechargable batteries and charger. Is it better to buy one that charges in 3+ hrs or charge for approx10 hrs + for AA batteries.I will buy a high capacity such as the uniross in argos at 2100mah or they have a new one at 2700mah myself I would think the long charge but would appreciate any advice as I have just got in to digital cameras.

the charge time doesnt make a difference. both charge the battery to the same capacity. the faster one costs more and if you dont mind leaving the charger on overnight then you may as well go for the cheaper one. i have a uniross slow charger. takes 15 hours to fully charge my 2500mah batteries.

thanks for that so I will buy the 4 pack high capacity batteries so I can have 2 spare to charge over night.I already have one of the cheaper chargers.
this is a good competitive price, and basically what you want (assuming your camera takes Ni-Mh batteries. don't attempt to swap batteries in different chargers):

(unsure what it'll be in argos)

thanks for that. The charger I have is universal NI-CD AND NI-MH WITH TESTER AND DISCHARGER. Will that be alright to use with 2500mah batteries. thanks for answer.

forgot to add that one uniross sprint is in argos book at 19 .99
it'll tell you what battery charge the charger can go upto in its instructions. but you almost certainly want to be using Ni-Mh.

OK on the back of charger which i have had quite a few years it says ni-mh battery side 12 hrs for AA 1000-1100mah 14 hrs for AA 1200-1300 that is as high as it goes and I want to buy 2005mah batteries so i think I will have to go for something like what you suggested battery and charger complete thanks I didnt think on checking on back of charger.
yes, you'll need a new one. the higher the charge rating, the better. it just means the batteries will last longer.

the sprint chargers are good, and i've used a uniross and found it to be good. the ones with included batteries are usually the best buy.
